Two things this top strategist is watching now
From earnings to economic data, there is a lot of information for investors to digest. BlackRock chief investment and portfolio strategist, Americas Gargi Chaudhuri shares two things she is watching right now. It might be if you read the headlines or have your own personal experience of prices going up versus looking at the stock market prices, there might be a dichotomy there and obviously, the real economy and the stock markets are not the same, we all know that. But I think a couple of things that I am focusing on are, the first is, you're right, the labor market certainly is not where we thought it was. I think the revisions were more important than the data that we got for this month. And I think that chances are that we can continue to see a few, you know, few areas of weakness, but at the same time, I think what that also means is that the Fed is likely to be able to resume their rate cutting cycle. So I think the market takes a lot of relief from that, that we've sort of been in this 4.375% range and now the recognition that here's a Fed that is going to very quickly be able to adjust their path on policy rates because they talked about it, even before the payroll report was available to us, they did say that the risk of labor market is something they're watching, they talked about the unemployment rate of course. But now that we're beginning to see that weakening perhaps that's where we have the Fed coming in and cut rates even as early as September and then continuing to do so for the remainder of this year. So that's number one. But, no doubt Julie, the point that you make around sort of this dichotomy, this divergence of real and stock markets is a meaningful one, which is also why we've been telling investors that this is the economy and this is the market in which you really need to be diversified and add hedges. So this beta move and this stock market move that has been tremendous may run into, and may being the operative word here, may run into some issues, August could very well be a little bit of a volatile month. I don't know that any pullbacks we see in the market will be long lived. I think they'll be short lived in nature. But at the same time this is why we think adding to fixed income, adding to income generating parts of the fixed income market because you have so many of those is really important here, especially in the front end and the belly of the curve. Adding to diversifying strategies, especially global market neutral strategies that don't have a lot of beta to the equity market is really important. And then having asset classes like gold and Bitcoin, which can and have been a diversifier, can also be important.

Yellow heat health alert issued for southern half of England
A yellow heat health alert has been issued across much of England for the start of next week as a new wave of warm weather sweeps in. The warning, issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), covers London, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, East of England, the South East and South West, and will be in place from 12pm on Monday until 6pm on Wednesday. Significant impacts across health and social care services may occur over the period due to the high temperatures, the agency said. This includes the potential for a rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions. The latest warning comes after the UK has already experienced three heatwaves this summer. A combination of amber and yellow heat health warnings were issued across England last month when temperatures exceeded 30C in several parts of the country.

Inter Milan Striker To Sign Five-Year Deal With Cagliari As Player Pushes For Deal
Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito is set to sign a five-year deal with Cagliari. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the player pushed for the move. Cagliari will pay a fee of €4 million, plus 30-40% of future resale. The past few days have seen a real tug-of-war emerge regarding Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito. It has always seemed clear that the Italy Under-21 international would leave Inter for good this summer. Esposito has gone out on a string of loan moves. Last season he was on loan at Empoli. But this summer, Inter are keen to sell Esposito outright once and for all. (Photo by) A few clubs in Serie A have shown an interest in Esposito's signature. Fiorentina have been sounding out a deal for the 23-year-old for a number of weeks. However, two clubs have been pushing to sign Esposito in the last few days. Cagliari have been in talks with Inter this week. They're pushing to finally wrap up a deal for Esposito. However, earlier this week Parma reportedly also looked to hijack the Rossoblu's deal, which had hit a couple snags. Yesterday, though, Cagliari further raised their offer to Inter. The Sardinians are offering the Nerazzurri the €4 million they want now, plus a 30-40% sell-on fee. And the decisive factor, according to the Corriere dello Sport, has been the preference of the player himself. Esposito has made up his mind to join the Rossoblu. Therefore, reports the Corriere, the 23-year-old striker will sign a five-year contract with Cagliari until the end of June 2030.

Park Bom takes health break from 2NE1 group activities
8 Aug - Park Bom's camp recently announced that the singer will be taking a break from group activities with 2NE1 due to health issue. Sharing the news on 6 August, D-Nation Entertainment stated, "We are deeply saddened to deliver this news, especially as so many fans have shown their support for 2NE1's full-group activities." "Since medical staff recently advised that she needs sufficient rest and stability, we reached this unavoidable decision after careful discussion," they added. They also asked fans to give their support to Park Bom so that she can have good recovery. At the same time, the agency urged everybody to continue to show their love for Dara, CL and Minzy as they continue to perform without Park Bom. The 41-year-old singer was recently absent at the Waterbomb Busan 2025 Music Festival, where she was scheduled to perform on 26 July.
